The Wellington Performing Arts Centre will be offering Irish Dancing classes. The classes will be for adults and children beginners and are being run by former championship dancer Mary Beth Taylor, TCRG (An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, Dublin, Ireland).

"Brave, funny, terrifically honest"
Taking the Waewae Express is taking on a life of it's own. The success of the low-budget feature film that was shot in 2006 using Acting Diploma students from the Wellington Performing Arts Centre has meant that the Paramount Theatre has extended it's season so that the film can play every Sunday. This is as a result of there being full houses at the screenings every week.
The Dominion Post has said about the film:
"This is a great little film: brave, funny, terrifically honest and unaffected, big hearted and smart enough to transcend its non-existent budget. Go see it."
Graeme Tuckett, Dominion Post
The film will also play in Oklahoma, USA in September as part of New Zealand Cultural Week, where Patricia Grace will be receiveing the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
The Filmmakers Andrea Bosshard and Shane Loader will be teaching on the Centre's new Certificate in Screen Acting course which begins 21 July.
