Overview

The Performing Arts Major of the Bachelor of Applied Arts is a three-year programme. While providing a strong base in Mâori, Samoan, Cook Islands and New Zealand contemporary dance performance, it encourages students to develop their own strengths in technique, performance and choreography.
In the third year students research and create a major body of work for public presentation.
Performing and touring internationally are significant parts of the Performing Arts programme.
Students who successfully pass all compulsory and elective requirements in the three-year programme graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Performing Arts). Students who pass the first two years of the degree programme may graduate with a Diploma in Performing Arts.
