SINGING TRAINING - Level Two

Pre-requisite: Level One Certificate (entry by invitation)
or similar prior learning (entry by audition).

Level Two Course

A 6-month course of professional training for singers to extend their abilities in a variety of vocal styles and to enhance their understanding of dance and performance. The course is highly practical with some academic content. It is designed to develop a versatile and disciplined singer who understands performance presence and who can take direction and work productively in an ensemble.

The course is of 20 weeks duration comprising a total of 350 contact-teaching hours and is delivered between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00pm.  It is anticipated that students will be able to undertake the training in conjunction with part-time employment in the afternoon and evening.

The course will culminate in the presentation of ensemble and solo work that is structured to develop students’ performance abilities and stylistic versatility.

In selecting students to participate in the training, the audition panel will be looking at vocal and dance technique and performance ability.  Consideration will be given to video auditions.
