SINGING TRAINING - Level One

Singing, Dancing and Acting

Level One Course

A 6-month course of professional training in the technique and repertoire of singing, acting and dance designed to develop an understanding of performance singing. The course is highly practical with minimal academic content. It gives students an understanding of stylistic versatility and technical skill in singing.

The course is of 20 weeks duration comprising a total of 350 contact-teaching hours and is delivered between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00pm. It is anticipated that students will be able to undertake the training in conjunction with part-time employment in the afternoon and evening.

The course will culminate in a short presentation designed to develop and demonstrate students’ performance skills and singing abilities.

In selecting students to participate in the training, the audition panel will be looking at vocal technique, dance ability and interpretive performance skills. Consideration will be given to video auditions.
