DANCE TRAINING - Level Two

Pre-requisite: Level One Certificate (entry by invitation)
or similar prior learning (entry by audition)

Level One Certificate

A 6-month course of professional training for dancers designed to extend their abilities in a variety of dance styles and enhance their performance skills. The course is highly practical with some academic content. It is designed to develop a versatile and disciplined dancer who understands performance presence and who can take direction and work productively in an ensemble.

The course is of 20 weeks duration comprising a total of 350 contact-teaching hours and is delivered between the hours of 9.00am and 1.00pm. It is anticipated that students will be able to undertake the training in conjunction with part-time employment in the afternoon and evening.
The course will culminate in the presentation of ensemble and solo work that is structured to develop students’ performance abilities and stylistic versatility.

In selecting students to participate in the training, the audition panel will be looking at technical strength, style, line, flexibility and performance ability. Consideration will be given to video auditions.
