CHILDREN'S COMMUNITY CLASS QUESTIONS

 

These questions apply to classes that are run by Wellington Performing Arts Centre. These classes include: Drama, Advanced Drama, Hip Hop, Boy's Street Dance, Creative Dance. (Does not include Stage & Screen, Acting Academy, Young Actor's Studio). 

 

Can my child join part way through the term?

No.  We ask that children regrister for a complete term.

 

Are they able to watch the class first to see if they like it?

Yes. The child is welcome to try out the class to see if they like it. The tutors prefer that the child participates in the class rather than just watches it. You will still be charged for this class (10% of the overall Term fee)

 

Do I need to register for the class?

Yes.  This is essential, as we must have a record of registration.

 

When do I need to pay for the classes?

The classes need to be paid for at the beginning of the term. There are no refunds.

 

Can I pay by credit card over the phone?

Yes you can.  To pay by phone call the Centre on (04) 2386225.  We accpet Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, Cash or cheque.

 

Do I have to attend the classes every week?

Yes. The Centre prefers that the child makes a commitment to coming to the class every week. Please call in before hand if the child is unable to attend.

  

Do the classes work towards a performance?

Yes. Most of the children's and teens classes involve a performance in the middle of the year in June and at the end of the year in December.

 

When does the next term begin?

The terms for 2009 are:

Term 1    Monday 9 February to Thursday 9 April               9 weeks

Term 2    Monday 27 April to Friday 3 July                         10 weeks

Term 3    Monday 20 July to Friday 25 September              10 weeks

Term 4    Monday 12 October to Friday 11 December         9 weeks

 

Are there classes during the holidays?

No. There is a two week break and then the next term begins. The Centre will also be closed druing public holidays.

 

What should the child wear?

The child should wear comfortable clothing, that they can move freely in.
