AGE 7-9
Fun introduction to drama where children gain confidence on stage and start to learn the basic principles of drama, in a group situation.
Kids will share exciting news from the previous week with the rest of the class – encouraging listing skills and being a good audience.
- Warm up games that promote drama skills.
- In a group we discuss the topic at hand and kids give feedback.
- Working as a class or in groups we put the ideas into practice.
- Rehearse the scenes or ideas that worked the best.
- Games to finish the day.
AGE 10-12
Exploring creativity in drama, creating characters and storylines and working in smaller groups.
- Drama games/exercises to warm up.
- Break into groups and come up with skits/ideas/characters relating to our performance/topic.
- Perform for the rest of the class.
- Discuss what worked and what didn’t.
- In groups refine the ideas and create new works.
- Team building/fun game to end.
TEENS
More one-on-one work, working on established texts, characterisation and writing and performing own material.
- Warm up games that creative foundations of trust within the group.
- Physical and vocal warm up
- Discussion of the topic at hand.
- Class work on aspects of the project e.g. – characterisation, physicalisation.
- Individual work with the text material with one-on-one sessions with the teacher.
- Performance for the rest of the class.
- Improve games to promote stage skills and quick thinking.
